Pop group Red Jumpsuit Apparatus rose to prominence in 2006 after the release of their hit song Face Down which highlights the problem of domestic violence. In January 2007 they announced the winners ofthe "Face Down"essay contest which recognized some very talented high school students - read them here: Caged, Delta, and A Broken Ballerina.

Country music artist Rebecca Lindsey is joining in the effort to make Every Home a Safe Home with her song "I Will Be" which has been endorsed by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Rebecca says "Musiccan havesuch a powerful and positive effect. My prayer for those of you who mayneedstrength to leave a bad situationis that you are inspired to take action and really "see yesterday is gone" and that you are not alone. Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Toni Childs won an Emmy for the music and lyrics to "Because You're Beautiful," a song she wrote at the request of Eve Ensler,playwright/activist, creatorof the "Vagina Monologues" and founder of V-Day, "a global movement to end violence against women and girls that raises funds and awareness."
