Board Service

My board service began in college where I served 2 terms on the Executive Committee of the Undergraduate Student Government: first as Secretary; and second when I was chosen by general election to serve as President. I learned many lessons in student government: confidence, public speaking, writing legislation, and the effective use of parliamentary procedure.

My first Alpha Chi Omega board experience turned out to be my longest one – eight years. I served two terms as the collegiate representative to the Property Management Team and continued on as an alumnae member, through several chapter moves, through the incorporation of the local House Corporation Board, lease negotiations, and a major building renovation project. I’ve served on many other Alpha Chi boards over the years – alumnae chapter executive committees and AXO Foundation fundraising efforts most notably.

I have also served on various boards and committees through my professional life and as a volunteer including projects for the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon, Case Western Reserve University, the University of Texas Houston Health Science Center, the Tallahassee Symphony Society, and Desoto Trail Elementary School (where my son is a first grader).
