This blog is a day-to-day update of what is going on in Mu Tau Mu.

Convention Delegate Documents Available
We encourage all MTM members to familiarize themselves with the legislation to be discussed and candidates to be voted upon at Alpha Chi Omega's National Convention. The documents are available at the Alpha Chi Omega website (click here); they are password-protected, so if you don't have a log-in there, write us at axozu@yahoo.com and we can get you your member number.

New film stars an Alpha Chi Omega!
Maddy Curley, pictured at left with co-star, Jeff Bridges, plays a member of the US Gymnastics Team in the new film Stick It! that debuts April 28th. Maddy is an initiate of Epsilon Chi chapter at the University of North Carolina. View the trailer here and support Maddy by going to see the movie!!

Tornado destroys Alpha Chi Omega house
Sigma chapter houseThursday night, April 13th, 2006, tornadoes ripped through Iowa City, IA. Unfortunately the Alpha Chi Omega house at the University of Iowa was severely damaged during these storms.
The good news is that no one at UI was hurt and the sisters of Sigma chapter are all safe. They've moved out of the house into a vacant fraternity house, but many of them lost belongings when the east wall and much of the roof was torn off. If you would like to assist the chapter in getting back on their feet, they have set up a wish list at Target. Go to http://www.target.com choose wish list and then enter alpha chi omega sigma and then Iowa for the state. More information, reports from the scene and links to photos are posted here.

WOW!! The outpouring of support for Sigma chapter has been incredible! Thank you so much to everyone who shopped at Target - the wish list is fulfilled! Here are 2 alternate ways to help Sigma chapter:
1. To benefit Sigma chapter's long-term needs, you may contribute to the Sigma Chapter Love & Loyalty Fund with the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. Love & Loyalty funds provide educational and leadership grants for chapters and individual members and are held in perpetuity by the Foundation. Gifts may be made in two ways: (1) By check made payable to Alpha Chi Omega Foundation. Please write "Sigma Chapter L&L" in the memo line of the check and send it to Alpha Chi Omega Foundation, 5939 Castle Creek Parkway, North Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46250-4343; and (2) Via online giving on our website ( https://www.alphachiomega.org/foundation/invest_values/wtg_online_do
nation_form.asp?Member=N ). Please indicate the gift is for Sigma Chapter L&L in the box under "Step Two: Other." These gifts are tax deductible.
2. To help the chapter directly, you may send gifts to the chapter in care of the chapter president. These gifts will be used by the chapter as best determined by the chapter, its advisors, and the local house corporation board. Checks should be made payable to Sigma Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. Please write "tornado relief" in the memo line of the check and send it to Sigma Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega, c/o Leslie Jensen, Chapter President, 303 Ellis, Iowa City, Iowa 52246. These gifts are not tax deductible.
