Behind the Scenes at MTM

This blog is a day-to-day update of what is going on in Mu Tau Mu. Eventually we'll move the older journal entries from our livejournal space but for now to read the archives (entries prior to May 19, 2005), head over to http://www.livejournal.com/users/amzmtm/.

Things you'll hear about here include notification that new photos or other items are posted on our private website (more about the site is here), more detail on our activities than you see in our month-by-month history blog, news from Case, news from the collegiate chapter, news from Alpha Chi Omega at large, and occasionally fun new ideas on their way to implementation. Links to the private site will take you directly to the item mentioned.

To protect the privacy of our members, only first names will be given.

Help us get in touch with lost sisters

We have 11 AXO-ZU sisters who are lost - can you help us find them? See the list here.

We are also looking for email addresses for 18 sisters who initiated between 1983 and 1987 (list here), 17 who initiated between 1988 and 1992 (list here), 12 from 1993-1997 (here) and 4 from 1998 til present (here).

Thank you to Amy ZU '94, Lynette ZU '88 and Maura ZU '86 for the addresses they've found and shared.

If you do not receive your Lyre Magazine, did not get the Zeta Upsilon Muse that was mailed in early March 2007, and/or do not receive quarterly emails from the chapter, you are probably lost! Send us an email at axozu@yahoo.com and we'll update your contact information. Thanks!

Support Rebecca and Breast Cancer Research!

Please support Rebecca as she trains for the Cleveland Breast Cancer 3-Day!! She is a 1991 initiate of Zeta Upsilon chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. http://www.the3day.org/cleveland07/rebeccabennett

Hi everyone:

I just wanted to let you know that I will be participating in a very special event this summer - the Cleveland Breast Cancer 3-Day to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. I will be walking 60 miles over 3 days and camping 2 nights this August. I am walking to support my good friend Laurie, who lost her best childhood friend to breast cancer at the age of 30. I am walking so that my two daughters never have to worry about breast cancer when they grow up.

I have set my personal fundraising goal at $2200 and our team goal is growing to near $10,000. We have been brainstorming fundraising ideas to put our talents to work. I have been busy sewing quilted bibs to sell locally. I approached the Viking team at Jo-Ann Fabrics to embroider pink ribbons on the bibs, and they volunteered to help sew them too - it is amazing what support you can get when you ask! If you are in the Cleveland area, keep an eye out for "Bibs for Breast Cancer" in Mentor - I am working on places to sell them. Our first venue was the St. Gabriel Craft Show on March 23-24th, and we earned a little more than $300!

We have also arranged to have a B's purse party on Friday April 27th from 5-10 at Quail Hollow. Debbie Kasulones has generously offered a rather large portion of her profits for our cause. If anyone is interested in attending, contact me for a formal invitation. We will also be raffling off a purse at the event. Food, friends and fun will be provided! Anyone that can't attend, but is still interested in a new bag for Spring can log on to
www.BsPurses.com/dkasulones. Our Party order number is 971 (you enter this number at the end when you are checking out). You can design your own bag in fun fabrics and help out our team at the same time.

To see my progress, or to donate, visit my personal webpage at
http://www.the3day.org/cleveland07/rebeccabennett. Many companies offer matching contributions and American Express also donates when you use your card. If you rather not donate on line let me know - I have some donations cards available.

I can't wait to start training when the weather gets better here in Cleveland. I have trained with Laurie the last few years (this is her 4th year) but this is my first time participating in the real event. It is good to have an experienced tent-mate! We will be walking at dawn 3-4 days a week until August. If anyone walks on the bike path in Concord, give us a wave or join us!

Thanks in advance for your support!
