Behind the Scenes at MTM
This blog is a day-to-day update of what is going on in Mu Tau Mu.
Eventually we'll move the older journal entries from our livejournal
space but for now to read the archives (entries prior to May 19, 2005), head over to http://www.livejournal.com/users/amzmtm/.
Things you'll hear about here include notification that new photos or other items are posted on our private website
(more about the site is here),
more detail on our
activities than you see in our month-by-month history blog, news from
Case, news from the collegiate chapter, news from Alpha Chi Omega at
large, and occasionally fun new ideas on their way to implementation.
Links to the private site will take you directly to the item mentioned.
To protect the privacy of our members, only first names will be given.

Help us get in touch with lost sisters
We have 11 AXO-ZU sisters who are lost - can you help us find them? See the list here.
We are also looking for email addresses for 18 sisters who initiated between 1983 and 1987 (list here), 17 who initiated between 1988 and 1992 (list here), 12 from 1993-1997 (here) and 4 from 1998 til present (here).
Thank you to Amy ZU '94, Lynette ZU '88 and Maura ZU '86 for the addresses they've found and shared.
If you do not receive your Lyre Magazine, did not get the Zeta Upsilon Muse that was mailed in early March 2007, and/or do not receive quarterly emails from the chapter, you are probably lost! Send us an email at axozu@yahoo.com and we'll update your contact information. Thanks!

Support Yvonne and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
It is so impressive the great causes our sisters are all involved in - please support Yvonne in her efforts on behalf of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She is a 1999 initiate of Zeta Upsilon chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. http://www.active.com/donate/tntgla/tntglaYPrado1
Hey everyone!
As some of you may know, I just completed my first marathon! The LA Marathon was definitely a great experience and I'm glad I did it. Now some of you are going to think I must be crazy, but I signed on to do the San Diego Rock 'n' Roll Marathon, on June 3, 2007. However, this time I'm training with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training, and have commited to raise $2400 to research and patient services.
As some of you may know, I am a registered nurse who works with children that have cancer, and find this cause very dear to me. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society has been a pioneer in supporting cancer research and several medications that are now being used in the chemotherapy protocol is because of them. I have seen many children beat their cancer, grow their hair back, return to school, and lead normal lives, which makes me so happy and proud. Unfortuntately, I have also seen the ugly side of cancer in which children have lost their battle to it. Leukemia is still the leading cause of disease death in children under 20. It is my dream to one day find a cure for cancer, and prevent any more lives from being taken from this.
Please help me in my fundraising efforts by donating whatever amount you can by Friday, May 4th, 2007. Below, is the link that will take you directly to my fundraising website. 75% of the funds raised will go to research and aid for patient and their families, and all donations are 100% tax deductible. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Tax Payer ID #13-5644916.
Also, if you have a friend or family member you'd like me to run in honor or memory of, please let me know and I will pin their name on my race day jersey. It will be a simple reminder that as the miles get higher and the road get longer, and the pain sets in, that I have a purpose and my ability to run should not be taken for granted. Again, thank you for your time and consideration.
With thanks and appreciation,
Yvonne

for Yvonne's contact info and updates see here.

Congratulations Yvonne!!! She successfully completed the marathon and raised nearly $2000!! She says "There was a total of 3600 members of Team in Training representing the many chapters from across the country. Together, we raised a total of $12.5 million dollars all going towards research in hopes of finding a cure for blood cancers. Again, thank you for your support and words of encouragement. I definitely could not have done it without you.” Read more here.
